Like many artists, I have been drawing since I was able to hold a
marker, or a pencil, or anything else that would make a mark. My art is
often linked with storytelling. I studied English Teaching in college
and started exploring fiber arts and painting while working on my
Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. Art - be it
2-dimensional drawing or painting, or 3-dimensional soft sculpture or
fashion - has always been my creative escape.
I call myself a
dabbler extraordinaire because I've never met an art supply or technique
I haven't wanted to try. I love mixing elements and seeing what
different media can bring to the same theme. I don't have a "niche" or
an "aesthetic" - I make what makes me happy. Sometimes that includes
dancing skeletons or creatures from various mythologies, and sometimes
it includes kittens.
My goal with my art is to make people smile
and take a deep breath. I want my audience to feel uplifted, and for the
world to be a little bit brighter because I made something beautiful.
