All products sold on Drifa’s Leap must be handmade by the seller (hereafter known as Leapster)
or the seller’s immediate family. Below are some guidelines, but are in no way all inclusive of the
depth and breadth of the artists. You must own the rights to what you are selling (see copyright
policy). Exceptions may be made for co-ops selling in cooperation with several members, this must be clearly described in shop's "about us" section.
Creation Location:
● All items must be created in the USA or Canada.
● Transforming vintage items through upcycling or repurposing is allowed, but minimal
effort (e.g., painting an item a single color or refinishing) is not sufficient.
Handmade Tools:
● Tools that are handmade are acceptable for sale.
● Must contain a handmade element (e.g., a bead made by the Leapster).
● Store-bought elements like a single bead or pre-strung beads without modification are
not allowed.
● Stringing multiple beads sourced elsewhere into a necklace is acceptable.
● 2D Art: Includes painting, illustration, or drawing created by the Leapster, and prints of
original art (even if printing is outsourced).
● 3D Printed Items: Must include alterations (e.g., hand painting). Unaltered 3D prints
made from the Leapster's own design/patterns are encouraged. Unaltered items created
from a model downloaded, must be altered to sell.
Embroidery items are permitted on Drifa’s Leap only when a meaningful part of the process is handmade by the seller.
To qualify as handmade, at least one of the following must be true:
The original artwork or design was created by the seller, or
The seller personally digitized the design into an embroidery file from original artwork or a licensed source
In all cases:
Sellers must clearly disclose which part of the process they personally completed (design creation, digitizing, stitching, finishing, etc.)
If artwork used was not created by the seller, the source and licensing status must be disclosed
Simply purchasing or downloading a ready-made embroidery file and stitching it out does not qualify as handmade
Physical production steps such as hooping, machine embroidery, trimming, assembly, and finishing must be performed by the seller.
● Hand dyed commercial fiber is allowed
● Natural fibers may be hand-dyed, spun by the seller, or sourced from the Leapster's
animals or gardens (commercially spun fiber from those sources is acceptable).
● Raw natural fiber from animals or gardens is allowed.
● Commercially bought fabric must be altered by dying or painting.
● Hand woven fabric by the seller is allowed
● Leather or fur sourced from animals raised by the seller is acceptable.
● Tanning or processing may be performed by the seller or by a commercial processor, provided the material originates from the seller’s animals.
● Commercially purchased leather or fur must be significantly altered by the seller.
● Handmade knives are allowed with the following restrictions, no ejectable blades, with a
manual or automatic mechanism, see full knife policy here https://www.drifasleap.com/edcknives
● Ensure that the digital media you sell is entirely your own creation. This includes
graphics, illustrations, photographs, and designs. You cannot sell or distribute works that
you do not own the rights to.
● Prints of the Leapster’s original photos are allowed, and outsourced printing is
acceptable.
● Resale: Reselling another artist's creations or other types of resale is prohibited.
● AI-generated Content: Please see our AI specific policy. AI is everywhere around us, and we are doing our best to keep the creator in products. www.drifasleap.com/AIpolicy
● Family-Friendly Adult Items: Items with adult themes should maintain family-friendly
images in the listings.
Intimate use is defined as items designed to be:
Inserted into the body;
Placed inside the mouth; or
Applied directly to genitalia or mucous membranes.
This includes, but is not limited to, items intended for internal, oral, or genital contact.
These items are prohibited due to payment processor, platform compliance, and risk considerations applicable to multi-vendor marketplaces, regardless of whether such items are legal to sell, handmade, or made from specific materials.
● Personalization: Items that feature only personalization without any original artistic
contribution from the seller cannot be resold.
● Found-item creations (e.g., sculpted driftwood) are allowed.
This policy ensures authenticity and supports true craftsmanship while encouraging creative
transformation.
Books
Books must be authored by the seller, though outside publishing and printing are
allowed. Additionally, the seller must offer other artistic creations, and the book's subject must
relate to their art.
