Nalbinding Needles have been used since pre-history to create fabric from yarn. Early needles were made of wood or bone and average two to three inches long. The eye can be large enough to accommodate several strands of yarn, thus reducing yarn loading time. Our needles are hand-made from bone or wood. We recommend beginning nalbinders start with a 2-2 1/2" inch straight needle. The longer the needle, the more energy is required to nalbind compared to shorter needles.
