Roman Distaffs hold fiber in preparation for spinning into thread. These bronze finger distaffs are direct copies of artifacts representative of the 1st-4th century. Found in Bulgaria, this type of distaff was common in Greek, Roman cultures as well as outlying Roman trade routes like the Ukraine. Available in 4 1/2" and 8" lengths. The ring on the original distaffs was ring size 5 (small). I also make them in ring size 7 (med) and size 9 (large).
8" distaffs are difficult to make and can only be cast small quantities. In case an item is Sold Out it should be back in stock shortly, so please send me a message and check back later.
