This handmade canteen was used in both the Roman and the Medieval Era. Examples are found from many sources, but my canteen was inspired by the examples of the costrels on the Museum of London Ceramics Website.

My version is a practical canteen, it can be hung on the belt by it's very sturdy handles, and includes a cork to keep the liquids from spilling. It is lined with a food-safe glaze and will not leak, while the exterior is left unglazed, showing it's a natural clay color and is very rustic. It is stoneware with the strength of that material. It is rustic looking. A cork is included.
Listing is for costrel and cork only.
SIZE: It holds 6 oz. of liquid. It is 5 & 1/2 in. high, 4 & 1/2 in. in diameter, and 1 in. wide.
