This is a handwoven 50% wool, 50% alpaca shawl/scarf, wear it either way, it is 13.5" wide and over 72" long with hem stitched fringe. The weft is a soft dark charcoal alpaca, not a true black. The vertical stripes are a black wool, so it will show the twill weave throughout. The alpaca makes this piece feel very soft. 

All pictures are taken in natural light, but monitor differences may not show exact accurate colors. The picture on the loom is a different scarf altogether, it is mainly showing the process.
